How to Install Your Saturday Neon LED Sign Using the Stand-Off Advertising Screw Kit

Important Note:

Our signs ship standard with our Flush Mount Screw Kit. The advertising screw kit mentioned in this article is sold separately and can be added to your order at checkout. Should you opt for this screw kit, the predrilled mounting holes in your sign will be drilled to accommodate this kit, not the Flush Mount kit.

💫This kit requires a larger diameter hole (8mm) than the Flush Mount Kit (4mm). If you have an existing sign, please ensure your mounting holes are large enough to accommodate this kit.

What You'll Need

  • Your Saturday Neon LED Sign
    • Ensure appropriate diameter mounting hole in your sign (8mm)
  • Stand-Off Advertising Screw Kit (included)
    • Wall anchors
    • Stand-off screws (barrel spacers)
    • Decorative caps
    • Silicone or rubber washers
  • Tools
    • Drill and appropriate drill bit (typically 3/8 inch or as specified)
    • Phillips-head screwdriver
    • Pencil
    • Level (optional)
    • Measuring tape (optional)
    • Hammer (for wall anchors)
    • Safety glasses (recommended)

Step 1: Plan Your Installation

  1. Select the Perfect Spot
    • Choose a flat, sturdy wall where you'd like to display your sign.

    • Ensure the location is near a power outlet if your sign requires one.

      Position the Sign

    • Hold the sign against the wall at your desired height.
    • Use a level to make sure it's perfectly straight.

    • Tip: Have a friend assist you for easier handling.

      Mark the Mounting Points

    • With the sign held in place, use a pencil to mark the wall through each pre-drilled hole in the sign's backing.
    • Double-check that all marks are level and properly aligned.

Step 2: Prepare the Wall

  1. Drill the Holes
    • Put on your safety glasses.
    • Select a drill bit that matches the size of the wall anchors.
    • Drill holes at each pencil mark to the appropriate depth.

    • Note: For masonry walls (brick or concrete), use a masonry drill bit.

      Insert Wall Anchors

    • Gently tap the wall anchors into the drilled holes using a hammer until they are flush with the wall surface.

Step 3: Install the Stand-Off Barrels

  1. Attach the Stand-Off Screws
    • Take the stand-off barrels (the longer cylindrical pieces).
    • Place a silicone or rubber washer on the end that will contact the wall to protect the surface.
    • Align each barrel with a wall anchor.
    • Insert the provided screws through the barrel and washer into the wall anchor.
    • Tighten using a Phillips-head screwdriver until snug.
    • Ensure all barrels are securely fastened and protruding evenly from the wall.

Step 4: Mount Your Sign

  1. Align the Sign
    • Carefully position your sign so that the pre-drilled holes align with the installed stand-off barrels.
    • Slide the sign onto the barrels.

    • Tip: Handle the sign gently to avoid scratches or damage.

      Add Front Washers

    • Place a silicone or rubber washer over each protruding barrel in front of the sign. This protects the sign's surface when attaching the caps.

Step 5: Secure with Screws

  1. Attach the screws
    • Insert screws onto the threaded ends of the stand-off barrels protruding through the sign.
    • Hand-tighten each cap until it is firm against the washer and sign surface.
    • Caution: Do not over-tighten, as this could crack the acrylic backing.

Step 6: Final Adjustments

  1. Inspect the Installation
    • Step back and visually inspect your sign.
    • Ensure it is level and securely mounted.

    • Make any minor adjustments if necessary.

      Connect the Power

    • Plug your sign into the nearest power outlet.
    • Conceal any cords using cable management solutions if desired.
    • Turn on your sign to verify it is functioning properly.
