Why We Offer Preorders (and How They Work)
What is a preorder?
A preorder lets you reserve an item that is not yet in stock. The estimated ship-by date for each product appears directly under the Preorder button on the product page.
Why we offer preorders
- Secure your team or design before it sells out.
- Help us forecast demand so we produce the right quantities.
- Support new releases and licensed approvals that have firm production timelines.
- Sometimes preorders include early access or first-batch availability.
How it works
- Place your order for the preorder item.
- We queue fulfillment on a first-come, first-served basis.
- When inventory is ready at our Colorado facility, we prepare your order within 1–2 business days and ship.
- You receive a shipping confirmation with tracking.
Payment and pricing
- A partial payment is captured at checkout to reserve your unit, and the balance is collected when the product ships to you.
- The price you see at checkout is the price you pay for that order, even if prices change later.
- Promo codes, gift cards, and store credit work on preorders unless a promotion states otherwise.
- Sales tax is calculated at checkout based on your shipping address.
Shipping and delivery
- Transit times begin after the order ships. Typical U.S. timelines:
- Economy: 3–7 business days
- Standard: 3–5 business days
- Express: 1–2 business days
- Mixed carts: if your order includes both in-stock and preorder items, we ship the in-stock items right away. Preorder items ship separately when ready. In some cases we may reach out to you first via email to confirm your preference as to when to ship the in-stock product (i.e. together with the preorder, or immediately.)
- Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. Territories may see longer transit times and additional fees.
- We currently ship within the United States.
Changes, cancellations, and delays
- You can cancel or change your preorder any time before it ships. Contact Support with your order number.
- Need to update your address or shipping speed? Reach out before the item ships and we will adjust.
- If the estimated ship-by date changes, we will email you with an updated timeline and options.
Returns and warranty
- Preorder items follow our standard return policy. The return window begins on the delivery date.
- Our standard limited warranty applies to preorder items.
Communication and updates
- Order confirmation is sent immediately after checkout.
- We email tracking as soon as your order ships.
- If anything materially changes, we will notify you by email.
Special cases
- Licensed product approvals or manufacturing updates may require small design or spec adjustments. If any change is material, we will notify you and offer options.
- Some releases have limited quantities. Preorders are fulfilled in the order received.
